Obituary of Darcy Paquette

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Darcy, at home, lovingly surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the age of 88. Beloved husband and helpmate of Barb, his wife of 55 years. Son of the late Forrest and Marie Paquette. Proud and devoted father of Jodi Paquette (Danielle), Karen Van Landeghem (Marcel), Michael Paquette (Mark) and Jon Frolick (Suzanne) of Canmore, Alberta. Adoring and fun-loving Papa of Jessica Cavaliere, Annabelle and Alexis, Mia and Joelson Morley-Frolick. Respected brother-in-law of Frank Sorochinsky (Jo) of Ottawa, Ontario and brother of Linda Smith (Gary) of Calgary, Alberta. Darcy will be fondly thought of and sadly missed by the Fantham family, his many nieces and nephews, his friends from Fred’s Trailer Park and especially his surrogate daughter Tammy Merrifield (Vinnie). Darcy was a kind man who would selflessly help anyone in need. He lived with the belief that “every day above ground is a good day”. We take great comfort in believing that he is in heaven talking with his best friend and Uncle Norm Fantham and playing cards with his best friend Jimmy Casola. Family and friends are invited to visit at Zion Lutheran Church (189 Upton Rd) on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Brad Mittleholtz officiating. Lunch to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to ARCH, the Diabetes Association or Zion Lutheran Church New Roof Fund would be greatly appreciated. A very special thank you to his daughter Jodi and his palliative care team who lovingly provided the care required to honour his wish to remain at home.
