Obituary of Sue Lin Chan

After a courageous fight with cancer, Lem passed away peacefully at ARCH on Friday, May 10, 2019 with his loving family by his side at the age of 85. Beloved husband for 49 years of Linda, father of daughter, Rosanne, and son, Jason. Son of the late Yin Tong (father) and Eng Chai (mother). Brother of the late Choy Wan (sister) (late Yuen Dat), late Chun Park (brother) and May (sister) (late Harry). Brother-in-law of Raymond (Betty), Chuck Kee, and Ivy (Roy). Uncle and granduncle of many in Canada, the United States and China. Lem came to Canada at age 17, worked as a short-order cook and worked his way up to a chef. He became the restaurant owner of Peacock Garden Restaurant and Tavern in 1968 before retiring in 2002. The family would like to thank Dr. Gayle Yee, Dr. Anis Aziz, Dr. Mohammad Rassouli and the teams of doctors who treated Lem.  As well as the wonderful staff at the Cancer Clinic in the Sault Area Hospital, and ARCH for their care and compassion. Family and friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held in the chapel on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Fund, Group Health Centre Surgery Department or ARCH in memory of Lem would be appreciated by the family.
