Obituary of Concetta Marandola

Passed away peacefully, with family by her side on Monday, May 27, 2019 at the Sault Area Hospital, in her 91^st year.  Beloved wife of the late Eugenio Marandola.  Loving mother of their late infant son Giovanni, John (Sheila), Guido, Lucy Longo (Joe) and Danny. Proud grandmother of Kateri Hastings (Mike), Kathleen Dempster (Greg) Joseph Marandola (Haley), Matthew Marandola, Alyssa Marandola, Brianna Marandola, Dali Longo, Jana Longo, Jarrett Longo (Megan), Janet Marandola, Jacob Marandola, David Marandola and Rachel Marandola. Great grandmother of Mikah, Samuel, Matea and Jesse. Dear sister of late Philip Proietti (late Gemma), late Ida DePetrillo (late Sabatino), late Antonia Geatano (late Giovanni), late Vittorio Proietti (Louisa), late Giovanni Proietti (Lucia), late Romolo Proietti (late Chiara), late Guido Proietti (Claudette), Gino Proietti (Giuseppina). Dear sister-in law of the late Luigi (late Delorinda), late Dominic (Mafalda), late Alberto (Maria), late Giovanni (late Lina), Giuseppe (late Carmelina), Maria DePetrillo (Angelo) and Antonio (Maria). Concetta will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. 

Concetta’s passion was cooking.  Family gatherings brought her the most joy. Concetta gave selflessly.  Her children were her greatest pride and joy.  Mom you will be deeply missed, but forever loved.

As per Concetta’s wishes a private family funeral mass was held. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758). Memorial donations made to The Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids) would be appreciated by the family.

Concetta’s family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the Extendicare Van Daele staff (especially Marcie, Kelly, Donna and Kimberly) for all the wonderful care given to Concetta.
