Obituary of Deborah Mae Bourn

(nee Vesala) - Born May 28, 1952, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Sault Area Hospital. She leaves behind loving husband Stuart, brother Paul (Heather) and sisters Betty-Ann (David) and Susan (Tim). She was an amazing, intelligent, warm person who was respected by all those in the community who worked with her on many committees as a representative of municipal government. As an advocate of the rights and services for developmentally challenged people she served as President of the Association for the Mentally Challenged. Deborah faced many years of health challenges with tenacity and humour that earned her the admiration of everyone who met her. Memorial Mass to be held at St. Gerard Majella Church on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. with Father Alex Saurianthadathil officiating. A private interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. The family extends their most sincere thanks to all doctors, nurses, CCAC, in-home care support and palliative care support teams who provided such compassionate care and dignity.
