Obituary of Charles Dunn

Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Charles Peter Dunn passed into peace surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Ontario Finnish Resthome. Charles leaves Evelyn (née Hicks), his wife and best friend of 66 years. Beloved son of Laurene Blossom Dunn (Sim) and John Peter Dunn. Charles is survived by sons Kim (Gerry), Brent (Raija), Darby (Suzette), and Mark (Maria). Loving Grandpa to Stephanie (Adam), April (Jason), Colleen (Nick), Shawn, and Nicole (Graham). Special Great-Grandpa to Penley and Gavin. Charles was hard-working and fun-loving. He enjoyed long drives, country music, and gatherings with friends and family. A wonderful singer and engaging performer, Charlie entertained many at barn-dances and taverns throughout Algoma District, and was well known for his country yodeling. Charles was very proud of his family and made many sacrifices to provide for them. The love he had for family brightened the room. We will miss you. At Charles’ request, a private family service was held. Memorial donations to the Ontario Finnish Rest Home, Mauno Kaihla Koti would be greatly appreciated. The family wishes to thank the amazing staff at the Finnish Rest Home’s Mauno Kaihla Koti for their loving care of our father. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
