Obituary of Blanche DeLuca

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Blanche on October 20, 2019 at the age of 94. Daughter of the late Mary and Carmen DeLuca. Dear sister of the late Angela Lamarche (late Rolland), late Atillio, late Robert, and Anne Thibeault (late Romeo). She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews; Mary Alice (Michael), Amy (Jeff), Laurie (Todd), Doreen (John), Brian (Bev), Bill (Alice), and Joe, along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, numerous family members and friends. A lifelong resident of the Sault, Blanche worked as a bookkeeper for various prominent law offices, throughout her career. As a member of the Sault Golf Club for more than 40 years, and named its first female director in 1977, her friends will recall her commitment to community and her engaging social endeavours. Blanche’s generous spirit and innate curiosity inspired her love of food, travel, golfing, skiing, curling, crocheting, and entertaining. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Precious Blood Cathedral on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in Blanche’s name to St. Anthony’s Guild (stanthonysguild.org)  or CNIB Foundation (cnib.ca) (727 North Street #103, Sault Ste. Marie, ON, P6B 5Z3). The family wishes to thank the staff of Mauno Kaihla Koti at The Ontario Finnish Resthome for their care and compassion over the past two years.
