Obituary of Antonio "Tony" Nicoletta

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio, surrounded by his loving family, at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, Ontario on Sunday October 27, 2019 at the age of 79.  Devoted husband of 58 years to Nella.  Proud and loving father of Pina Caicco (Anthony), Nick (Nicole) and Lori Liguori (Mario).  Special Nono to Patrick DeLuca (Sarah Dubois), Kristian and Aiden Nicoletta and Sara and Emily Liguori.  Son of the late Nicola and Giuseppina Nicoletta.  Much loved brother of the late Domenico (Maria), late Giovanni, Anina Caputo (late Luigi), Cesira Castagnaro (late Mario) and the late Maria Bernardo (late Adamo). Son-in-law of the late Gaetano and Rosa Guzzo and brother-in-law of Gilda (late Mario) Sicoly and Eugene (Mary) Guzzo.  Zio Tony was adored by many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and France.  Tony was a true example of courage, strength and loyalty.  He was responsible for bringing some of his family from Italy in order to help them achieve a better life.  We are so grateful to have had such an amazing role model teach us the value of family, hard work and compassion towards others.  Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gregory’s Church on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 11:00 am with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to the St. Gregory’s Church Building Fund or SAH Cancer Care Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.
