Obituary of Chuck Barbeau

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chuck, at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Susan for 20 years.  Father of Jennifer, John (Carolyn), Tania Yarema (Chris) and Scott Yarema. Grandfather of Jonah, Tyson and Julian. Predeceased by his parents Donna Niemi (Leo) and Ralph Barbeau. Dear brother of Fred, Terry, Wendy Robb, Laurie Barbeau (late Jim Fuller) and Jim Barbeau (Elaine Deluzio). Brother-in-law of Rita Helpert, Vivian Smith (Laurie), Marian Giroux (late Dick) and Ivan Ramsay (Brenda). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and extended family. Chuck will be deeply missed by his many special, lifelong friends. Chuck was passionate about his career as a firefighter, he was honoured to have over 30 years with the department when he retired as the Deputy Fire Chief.  When he wasn’t at work, he could often be found spending time in his garage, he loved his garage. Chuck would spend many hours in there doing different wood working projects or simply just tinkering. He enjoyed spending time in nature and feeding the birds and squirrels. At Chuck’s request a private family service was held. Memorial donations to the Soup Kitchen or St. Vincent Place would be appreciated by the family. Special thank you to the Sault Area Hospital, ICU staff for the excellent care shown to Chuck.
