Obituary of Elizabeth "Betty" Kennedy

The family of Elizabeth (Betty) Kennedy sadly announces her passing, at ARCH on Thursday, December 26th, 2019 at the age of 81. Betty leaves behind her wonderful husband Martin whom she was married to for 61 years. Cherished mother of Christine Gregoire (Denis) and Douglas Kennedy (Luellen). Devoted and loving grandmother to Genevieve, Matthew, Celine Gregoire (Phil Graf) and Josh Kennedy (Hadar) and great grandmother to Gabriel, whom all affectionately called her “Honey”. Betty will be sadly missed by extended family members and friends. She will be forever remembered for her beautiful blue eyes, quick sense of humor, unconditional love, devotion to her family and her strong fight against her illness. Although our hearts are heavy, we find comfort that she is in heaven watching over us. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A Memorial Mass will follow at St. Gerard Majella Church (211 Pentagon Blvd.) at 1:00 p.m. with Father Alex Saurianthadathil officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions to ARCH would be greatly appreciated. Betty’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her Professional Healthcare Team Rita, Cindy, Jennifer and her respite worker Rachel for the excellent care and compassion given to Betty during her long illness. A special thanks as well to all of the staff at ARCH who made Betty’s final days peaceful and comforting.
