BELSITO, Rodolfo - It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rodolfo Belsito on February 17, 2020 at the age of 83. Survived by his beloved wife Iolanda (DeMarco) Belsito of 60 beautiful years. Son of the late Michele and Rosina (Spadafora) Belsito. Son-in-law of the late Giuseppe and Maria Grazia. Cherished brother of Irena Spatafora Osting (Richard and late Tony) and the late Lina Salerno (the late Franco). Brother-in-law of the late Rita Caria (the late Eugenio), the late Francesco DeMarco (the late Adalina), Luigi DeMarco (Maria), the late Ida Briglio (the late Luigi), the late Aldo DeMarco (Antonietta), the late Assunta Fascina (the late Carmelo), the late Orlando DeMarco (Santa), and Rinaldo DeMarco (Avanina). Deeply loved father of Rosetta Pirozzi (Antonio), Loredana Belsito (Frank), Michelina Sardo (the late Joe), (Nicolo), Michele Belsito (Cheryll), Cathy Calvert (Don), Francesca Mendicino (Antonio), and Irena Belsito (Nick Sardo), (Gino).
Proud grandfather of Santa Pietrantuono (Tony), Vincent Pirozzi (Denise), Joseph Pirozzi (Rachelle), Iolanda Spidalieri (Angelo), Maria Pirozzi, Crystle Calvert, Charlie Sardo (Sarah), Marcello Olindo (Christine), Stefania Pirozzi, Angelo Mendicino, Rosa Mendicino (Matt), Rudy Sardo (Jasmine), Michael Mendicino, Brittany Calvert, Santino Sardo and the late Joe Sardo. Loved very much by his great-grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Rodolfo was born in Cosenza, Italy where he and Iolanda began their adventure together until 1973 when they travelled to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario for a fresh start. This was the beginning of Rudy’s Golden Brush where he became well-known and respected for his hard work and dedication. Rodolfo was a man everyone knew they could depend on without hesitation. He and Iolanda’s new home became an open door for endless family gatherings day or night. He will never be forgotten for his generosity, warm heart, and love for having everyone together.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Veronica’s Church (559 Douglas Street) on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
