With broken hearts we announce the passing of Brian at the age of 42. Husband and best friend of Emmaly and loving and devoted father of Max, Jack, and Zoe Bumbacco. Much loved son of Ed and Barb Bumbacco and adored son-in-law of Salvatore and Caterina Rosso. Loved brother of Chris (Lorna) and Paul (Joanna) Bumbacco. The best brother in-law of Domenic and Carlee Rosso and Brian and Mary DeLorenzi. Proud Zio of Anthony, Sam, Noah, Lucas, Mia, Gavin, Cameron, Alexia, Matias, and Nicholas. He will be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Canada, the United States, and Italy. Brian graduated from St. Mary’s College before attending Sir Wilfred Laurier University and earning an Honours Degree in Economics and Accounting. While there he was accepted into their Co-op Program joining KPMG in Sault Ste. Marie where he was hired full time after graduation. Brian became a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Public Accountant while at KPMG, before joining Community First Credit Union as their Chief Financial Officer. He then moved to the Ontario Lottery Corporation where he became the Vice-President Finance Strategy, Systems and Programs. Brian was a selfless husband, father, friend and community volunteer as well as an avid sports fan. He loved spending time with his family and especially coaching his children. He was always the first to offer help to anyone who needed it. Brian was on the Board of Directors of the Sault Area Hospital and the Sault Major Hockey Association. He was a member of the Downtown Rotary Club, and a minor hockey coach at the Soo Pee Wee. He played minor hockey in Sault Ste. Marie, including time at the Soo Pee Wee, with the Sault Reps and AAA Major Midgets, before going to Aylmer, Ontario to play Jr. B. He loved watching football and was an avid fan of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, and the San Francisco 49ers. He was also a devoted follower of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Brian will be greatly missed by all of the people whose lives he touched. He made us all very proud and he will be remembered always as Moose and Daddy. A private family service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to an education fund for Brian’s three children. Donations can be made to O’Neill DeLorenzi Nanne in trust for Max, Jack and Zoe. Special thanks to Dr. Zahi Touma and his Rheumatology team from the Toronto Western Hospital and Dr. Jakob Moric, from Women’s College Hospital, who fought for him the most. Thank you also to the Doctors and Nurses at the Sault Area Hospital Emergency Department for their efforts and compassion. The tragic loss of Brian has left a hole in our hearts and a void in our lives. The memories that we have of our time with him are treasured and he will always be remembered and loved. To all of you who sent cards and messages and shared some memories, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your thoughts and prayers have been a great comfort to us in this most difficult time. The Bumbacco and Rosso Families.
