Obituary of Sandra Lee Uthoff
Please share a memory of Sandra Lee to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sandra Lee Uthoff passed away recently along with her constant furry companion, Bruno (a loving gift from her son, Greg).
Sandy was born April 27, 1946 at the Naval Base in Norfolk Virginia. She was the second daughter of Wanda Elaine Messenger and WWII Naval Aviator Lieutenant Keith Burton Messenger, both parents deceased.
She was the proud mother to Greg Lawrence Wright (Sylvie Therrien) of Quebec; Christine Uthoff, predeceased in infancy; and Lara Lee Uthoff (Rob Clark) of British Columbia. Grandmother to Steven Wright, Travis Wright and little Wolfy, Wolfgang Uthoff Clark.
Sister to Lynne Hurlburt (Ed) of Welland, ON; Janet Messenger of Sault Ste. Marie, ON; Margo Messenger of Toronto, ON; and Clare Messenger (Wendy) of Toronto, ON. Aunt of many nephews and one niece. Sandy was special friend of Jamie Gilchrist, presently of Sarnia, who stayed in touch through his many travels/wanderlust.
Sandy excelled in sewing and style. She won the Northern Ontario Singer Sewing Contest in her teenage years, and was still always conscious of fashion trends, colour and style. In her last 10 years, Sandy thoroughly enjoyed spending her time with the manager, Natalie of Phoenix Rising and the ladies who gather there.
Sandy was always generous, compassionate and kind to others, especially those who struggled with life’s difficulties.
Memorial donations made to Phoenix Rising Women’s Centre, the SSM Soup Kitchen, or any animal shelter would be appreciated. Due to present circumstances, a Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758).
