Obituary of Frank Czop
Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peacefully at the FJ Davey Home, with his loving wife holding his hand, Frank went to be with his Lord the day before his 75th birthday. Beloved and cherished husband of Mary for 52 years. Loving and devoted father and friend of Christopher (Lorie), Darrell (Andrew) and Danny (Danielle). Proud Gaja of Kiera, Sydney, Leah and Maddie. Loved brother of Patricia Pateman (George) and his twin brother Floyd (Dianne). Brother-in-law of Vetus Kantautas (Sandra), Ray Kantautas (Lynn), Allie Skarzinskas (John) and Keith Kantautas (Evelyn). Uncle and Godfather of many. Son of the late Frank and Pauline Czop. Son-in-law of the late Alfonse and Aukse Kantautas. As a man of deep faith, Frank courageously battled his Parkinson’s with dignity and determination over the past six years. His positive attitude and calm demeanour allowed him to accept whatever was placed before him. Through his loving heart and patience, Frank was the pillar of strength for his family, a kind soul and a man of integrity. He always placed the needs of others before himself, willing to help wherever possible. Frank used his God-given talents in Carpentry, Construction and Electrical daily and touched the lives of many. He took pride in his workmanship and patiently taught his sons to do the same. His four granddaughters were the apples of his eye and he never missed an opportunity to attend, cheer and support in each of his little girls special moments. Frank loved gardening and took exceptional pride in his garlic. Frank was a devoted employee of the #7 Blast Furnace and enjoyed retirement after 43 years. A private family service will be held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) with Father Ron Ambeault officiating. Memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. A heartfelt thank you to the 2nd floor Birch Lane staff and PSW’s at the FJ Davey Home for their care and compassion shown to Frank and our family.
