On Sunday, May 17, 2020, after a long battle with dementia, at the age of 90, Doreen has been reunited with her husband Stan, who was the love of her life for 48 years. Loving Mother of Kelly (Craig ), Phil (best friend Gildo), Dennis (Sandy) and Mark (Tecla). Loving Grandma to Nick, Mark, Ben and Stephanie. Loving sister to the late Ida Kraft (late Emerson), late Rose Fera (late Jim), late Mary St. Denis (late Alex), late Johnny Cristello (late Liz), late Nick Cristello (late Josephine) and the late Rocky Cristello (Betty). Sister-in-law to the late Helen Ostachuk (late Paul), late Kaye Melynuk (late Bill), late Ann Zuchek (late Lawrence), late Joe Ochocki (late Sarah), late Frank Ochocki (Evelyn), late Tony Ochoski (late Olga), and the late Phil Ochosky (Mardy). Remembered and loved by many nieces and nephews. Our family sends special hugs to Ann D'Ettore, Mom's best lifelong friend. Ann, Mom loved and cherished you, and you made her laugh always. Special thanks to the late Yolanda Dovigi and her wonderful family, for the true care and love that they always shared with our Mother. During Mom's dementia, every time Phil called her, she was promising to make him raviolis. That promise was as good as gold, as if she had truly made them for him again and again. It came from her heart. Mom always showed endless love and sacrifice for all her children, right to the end. We feel so blessed to have had her and Dad as our loving parents. I, Phil, would like to give endless thanks to my sister Kelly and her husband Craig, for their years of endless sacrifice and courage in helping Mom through her 8 years of her journey with dementia. I can never repay them for their love they showed to Mom. I would also like to thank my best friend Gildo, for his unconditional understanding and love through my difficult times in trying to comfort our Mom. Mom and Dad, if we had just one wish, it would be for a stairway that reached up to heaven so we could bring you both home again. We would like to celebrate Mom's life, to be able to cherish all our great memories of her. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758). Thanks to the staff of Cedar One at the F. J. Davey Home, for truly showing their love for Mom. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated.
