Obituary of Alfredo Guido

GUIDO, Alfredo - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and nonno on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 with his family by his side at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Carmela for 62 years. Loving and cherished father of Michael and John (Dina). Adored and proud nonno of Nicholas (Danielle) and Alexander. Predeceased by his parents Michele and Rosina. Dear brother of the late Francesco of Italy. Son-in-law of the late Santo and Teresa Bruno of Italy. Brother-in-law of Maria DeMarco (late Dominic), Rosetta Tesconi (late Amadeo) of Italy, late Elena Greco (late Luigi), late Giovanni Bruno (Mara) of Calgary and Mafalda Barone (late Angelo). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alfredo enjoyed working at Algoma Steel for over 44 years, without missing a day's work. He adored his two grandchildren and was so very proud of their accomplishments. There are not enough words to describe the love and pride that he had for them - they were his world. Many thanks to all the wonderful SAH nurses and personal support workers on 3C, 2A and 2C who treated Alfredo with the utmost care and compassion during his stay. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Webb and Dr. Mark Santana for their care and concern. Special thanks to Dr. Ianni and Dr. Jarrett for their many years of professionalism and respect and most recently Nurse Practitioner Jenny Waugh, who provided outstanding medical care and advice at SAH. Due to Covid-19, a private family service was held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre. Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. "Thank you for being the best husband, father and grandfather to us all.
