Obituary of Craig Lee
Please share a memory of Craig to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Craig Michael Lee passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2020 after a courageous and lengthy battle with brain cancer at the age of 53.
Craig was the devoted husband of Laurie Wedge, the loved son of Wayne and the late Audrey Lee, brother of Kevin (Louise) and uncle of Aidan and Ben Lee. Brother -in-law of Kate, Wendy, Jim, and the late Chris Wedge. Craig will be missed and fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Craig’s eleven year bout with brain cancer didn’t prevent him from engaging in his many passions including downhill skiing, and especially his love of the many challenging ski destinations in the Rocky Mountains. Craig enjoyed many years at the family camp on Haviland Bay fishing and touring the islands. Craig was a phenomenal cook and a wonderful entertainer, he also had a great eye for photography. In his work life Craig was a trained Chef and later transitioned to a IT professional.
Craig was a strong advocate and promoted the beauty of the North to all who would listen. He served on the Searchmont Ski Board during the recent sale and believed and shared his view that Searchmont was the undiscovered jewel of the North.
As per Craig’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no funeral services. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
The family would like to thank the tireless workers in oncology at the Sault Area Hospital, Dr. Booth, the Bayshore nursing staff, especially Marianne and the home care staff as well as Jason, who were much more than home care providers to Craig. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre.
