Sally Gibson

Obituary of Sally Gibson

Please share a memory of Sally to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Sally, beloved wife and best friend of Jim for 53 years. Proud mother of Duncan and Sara (Nate Watts). Loving grandmother of Rex Watts. Predeceased by her parents Rex and Hazel Gilroy. Beloved sister of Ed Gilroy (Judy) and Valerie Gilroy (late Bruce Barr). Sister-in-law of Jennifer Haukebo (late Noel). She will be missed by her nieces, nephews and extended family. Sally was a woman of many talents and abilities and never ceased to amaze. She had a thirst for knowledge and education. She was involved in many different clubs and activities; she was a true “life-long learner.” In her younger years she was continually active in athletics: University basketball, cross country skiing and hiking. She had a passion for all things artistic and created a variety of mixed media pieces, from textiles to fabric art she had an eye for design and beauty. The family camp on St. Joe’s Island is where Sally spent her summers in the sun and enjoying all things natural. As “busy” as Sally was, there was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family. A private family service will be held. Memorial donations to The Art Gallery of Algoma would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
