Peacefully passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Monday, October 5, 2020 at the age of 87. Loving husband and best friend of Carol and the late Bertha. Cherished father of Judy Laird (Brian), Luanne Erechook (Ken) and Terrence Boston (Debbie). Step father of Lisa Martius (Jim), Kristi and Mark. Grandfather of the late Patti, Cindy, Darren, Hue, Corey, Eddie, Ryan, Melissa, Mathew, Melissa and Jake. Great grandfather of Lori, Dennis Jr., Lucas, Abi, Nathan, Cole, Lauren, Clayton, Conrad, Sydney, Mackenzie, Payton, Ruby, Terrence, Riley, Jayden, Paxton, Kaymen, Isabelle, Amelia, Brandon, Miranda, Cameron, Lily, Logan and Lauren. Great great grandfather of Rowan, Heidi and Reid. Son of the late Clara and the late William Boston. Brother of the late Dorothy Gulley (late Cliff), late Arnold (late Joan), late Bill (late Eileen), late Vera (Bud), late Florence (late John), late Gwen (late Duane). Step brother of the late Bernadine (Kevin), Jean and Laurie (late Syd). He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and extended family. Hubert loved cheering on his favourite sport teams the Detroit Tigers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He enjoyed travelling to Montana and could often be found as the back-seat driver. In his down time, he enjoyed woodworking or having a coffee with the boys at McDonalds. But most of all, Hubert loved his family, especially his grandchildren who he was so proud of. Friends and family are invited to a public Graveside Service on Friday, October 9, 2020 at New Greenwood Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Those who wish to attend are invited to arrive at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) at 2:45 p.m. and park in procession, please remain in your vehicles upon arrival. The cemetery can accommodate up to 100 attendees and masks are mandatory. Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association or the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) would be greatly appreciated.
