It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Bill in his 92nd year after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Eva (nee Hicks) for 73 years. Honoured father of Tom (Heather), John (Sandra), Nancy Milosevich (Vern) and Sharon. Loving Grandpa of Rodney, Sarah (Eric), Candy (Reg), Corey (Michelle), Stacey (Michael), Ben, Amanda (Derek), Laura and Tamara (Michael). Great Grandpa of Cody, Dylan, Brandon, Bobbi-Lynn, Samantha-Rae, Jacob, Finn, Wyatt, Danica, Rodney Jr., Amy, Haley, Katie, Kayla, Mady, Tyson, Taylor and Spencer and Great Great Grandpa of Harper. He will be remembered by his sisters-in-law Evelyn Dunn, Jeanne Hicks and Ann Hicks. He is now reunited with his parents Morten and Lucy (Scott), his siblings Robert (Clare), Tiny Harten (Jim), John, Kathleen Morley (Ab), Lucy Johnson (Clifford), Lily Cushley (Ben), Betty Crack (Ernie), Mel (Frances), his parents-in-law Edward and Mary Hicks and his brothers and sisters-in-law Ted Hicks, Betty Kirby (Bill), Arthur Hicks (Gwen), Norman Hicks (Mary), Mary Lethbridge (Bill), Robert Hicks and Charles Dunn. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Bill was a hard-working man and retired from Algoma Steel with 36 years of service. He always carried the Bovingdon name proudly, being one of the original West Korah Pioneers and along with his loving wife, Eva, cherished his family most and the Family Century Farm on Third Line. His smile could light up a room and he always had a twinkle within his beautiful blue eyes. His passions included the family farm, sleigh rides, the outdoors and his love of nature, cows, and horses. He will be missed by his fur baby, Marley. A private family gathering has taken place. Memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Fund or ARCH would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank Dr. Apostle and the Palliative Team as well as Bayshore Health Care team for their compassionate care. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
Dad, we love you and hope you’re enjoying an ice-cold Lucky.
