Words fail me as they never did for Wayne. For a memorial service after Covid, Nancy might have to rent the arena and even that might not be gig enough. Wayne was a true friend, we kept in contact all these years. From the west coast, our most sincere sympathies to Nancy, the girls and all the family.

Kristen, Natasha, and Mrs. Viita,
Your wonderful father/husband coached me at SJD basketball. He was infectiously positive with a permanent smile on his face. It was evident how much he loved life and his family. We were so fortunate to have such an encouraging, upbeat influence as young basketball players. I am so sorry for your heartbreaking loss.

I remember in the early seventies, as a boy, catching minnows with Wayne in Clark Creek. I would catch hundreds and sell them to Sandy's Live Bait at the end of Queen St. In hindsight, I think he doubted my claims - and was just curious - so he met me there one day after school, and feigned awe at my minnow catching prowess...He recounted this story a few times over the years. I wish our paths had crossed more frequently.
Sincere condolences,
Jim Moore

One of the most impactful teachers I have ever had. Sincere condolences to the Viita family. To Kristen and Natasha my old schools mates, I am so very sorry about the loss of your dad. I had the awesome opportunity to interact with him a few times as an adult, and it was so awkward when he said to call him Wayne. Peace my friend.
