Peacefully passed to the Grand Lodge above on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Lynne for 24 years. Cherished father of Steve (Meredythe), John Davidson (Roxanne) and Kristy Davidson (Matt Graves). Loved grandfather of Emmett and Agatha Hertz, Courtney (Mitch Curtis) and Bill Davidson (Cam Mckeown). Great grandfather of Kaila and McKenna Curtis. Predeceased by his parents Gisele and George Hertz and his sister Ann Inkster (late Dale). Doug was a long-time employee of Algoma Steel, retiring from the Human Resources department in 2006. He was a proud member of the Hatherly Lodge and a Royal Arch Mason. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A private family Funeral Mass will be held. Due to the current pandemic there is a maximum attendance restriction of 40 attendees in the Funeral Home at one time. Mandatory for everyone is the use of hand sanitizer, masks or face coverings and physical distancing of 2 meters unless members of the same household. Memorial donations to Tracy’s Dream would be greatly appreciated by the family. A heartfelt thank you to Jeff at Bayshore for the care and compassion shown to Doug and our family.
