Rob,
We are siblings you and I, the pair of Cole kids. We've laughed and we’ve cried and through it all we’ve become really good friends.
Brother, I promise I will keep your memory alive, these memories that have intertwined us since I was five.
You have always been my constant, my younger brother and friend.
The pain is so great and the memories are so fresh, your smile, your shrug and your voice, I can still hear it in my head.
I will still ask you my questions and will want your advice, for I already know what you’d say, it’s just tucked away in my heart.
Siblings we are and we always will be and it’s so hard to say goodbye to someone who is as important as you are to me. I will miss you all of my days through and I hope that you know, how very much you mean to me and that I love you.

Aunt Irene and Sue:
I'm not sure what to say in the face of such a difficult loss. Just want you to know that I'm here if you need anything.
I was talking to my kids about Rob. I was telling them about how when we were younger, Rob was always patient with us younger kids and let us play his video games and with his wrestlers and other toys (even though I'm sure we were super annoying).
I can't believe he's gone.

Dear Cole family,
Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers with this terrible loss. I remember the first time I met Rob (at the house on Mount Royale) he was shy and soft-spoken, but had a great sense of humour. I have had the pleasure of knowing him among family, at ease and laughing, and I have seen first hand the strength and deep love he had for you all. I hope that in this time of grief and loss that more than anything, you find moments of peace and comfort in your best memories. If we can support any of you, in any way, please let us know. An ironwood tree has been planted in Robs' memory, may it grow strong and true as a living tribute in his name.

Irene, Jim and Susie, I was very saddened to hear about your devastating loss. Our families have known each other since before I was born. Growing up we always looked forward to seeing you. When our parents told us we were going to visit your family all of us kids got excited for the road trip. We had a lot of fun times especially when you had the pool in Ancaster. And for me spending time with Susie while the boys did their own thing. :) My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Remember the memories and keep talking about them, even though it is not always easy. Irene, you were a great friend to my mom and I know both her and my dad are visiting with Rob again.

This is so sad to hear this news. I remember our family always going to Hamilton for a visit. I would always look forward to seeing the dogs,smelling Jim’s cigars and of course playing with Rob. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I find the best thing to do is share memories about how great of a person Rob was. No matter how hard it is, it’s always ok to cry. Rob is always in our hearts.
