Obituary of Douglas George Thomas Fay
Please share a memory of Douglas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Reunited with the love of his life, Gerry, after almost five years apart, Doug passed away peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home at the age of 84.
He will always be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Christine (Merril Evoy) and Tracy, and by the grandchildren who made him so proud, Gage, Kellen and Bronwyn Evoy.
Doug enjoyed the many years he was able to spend at his camp on ‘Gitche Gumee’ and at his winter retreat in Destin, Florida. He was grateful for the friendships he made during an entire lifetime in his home town of Sault Ste. Marie and remained very close with the friends from his youth. He will be dearly missed by Alvin Maki and Merl Boyer who stood with him at his wedding, as well as Rolly McEwen, his faithful ‘partner in crime’ at Harmony Beach. Though he has left them behind for now, they will fondly carry the memories of days spent on the ball field, carousing around, golfing in retirement and getting into some ‘interesting’ situations on the road and closer to home.
Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the F.J. Davey Home would be appreciated by Doug’s loved ones.
Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
