Obituary of Gerald Birch

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerry at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the age of 79. Cherished husband and best friend of Shirley Lacoursiere for 26 years. Dear father of Pauline Terry (Jake) and Collette Lacoursiere “Jelly Bean”. Predeceased by his mother Noble Birch. Jerry will be fondly remembered by his god son Richard Breckenridge (Charlyn) and his many nieces and nephews. Best friend of Al Elliott (Norma) and Evelyn & Jamie MacDonald. Jerry was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and served in the US Military as an Engineer. He had a passion for John Deer tractors and loved to work on them. He also enjoyed spending time on his computer. Jerry will be missed by his cat Puttsy who he loved to share his egg yolks with. Thank you to Dr. Luke Fera and Dr. Hong Xu as well as the nurses on 3B and 3C at the Sault Area Hospital. A special thank you to all our neighbours on Jonathan Rd. for the constant care and support. Memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Fund would be appreciated by the family.
