Obituary of Francesco Bruni

Please share a memory of Francesco to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With broken hearts, the family of Francesco (Frank) Bruni wish to announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Barbara for 55 years. Loving father of Elisa Caputo (Sam), Mary, Loredana, Anthony (Tianna), Silvana (Ronnie Mancuso) and Frank (Melissa). Proud nonno of Vincent and Mikaela Caputo, Talia and Mattea Bruni, Teo and Francesca Bruni and Stella Mancuso. Francesco was the youngest son of the late Antonio and the late Elisabetta. Dearest brother of the late Barbara (late Michele), late Giuseppe (late Antonietta), late Angela (late Vito), Vincenzo (Laura), and Carmelo (late Carmela). Son-in-law of the late Domenico and the late Maria Ruscio. Brother-in-law of Joe (late Caterina), Tony (Anna), Pat (Nunzia), Carmelina, Caterina (Enrico), late Vincenzo (late Vincenza), Vittoria (Franco), Francesco (Adelina) and Mirella. He will be sadly missed by his best friend and brother-in-law Joe DeNisi. He leaves behind fond memories with many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Francesco was born on October 11, 1944 in Filadelfia, Calabria, Italy. He followed his sweetheart Barbara to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada in 1965, where he married, raised 6 beautiful children, and honed his craft as a bricklayer, mason and business owner. His artistry came through in everything he touched, whether it was buildings, fireplaces, landscaping, storytelling, homemade salami, wine and later, the family cooking. He enjoyed watching soccer, music, and a hearty plate of pasta with a good glass of vino with family and friends. He lived his life with integrity, honour and a meticulous attention to detail. His family and his work were everything to him. In the last few years, he fought courageously against cancer while at the same time caring for his wife Barbara. We would like to thank Francesco’s health care team: Dr. Jenkins, Dr. Rassouli, Nurse Paula, Nurse Kim, Dr. Apostle, Alistar Rasaiah, and Dr. Macie for their support and compassion.
