Obituary of Grace Gear

Please share a memory of Grace to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peacefully and with unwavering faith in God, Grace passed away at the F.J. Davey Home on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in her 95th year. She is now reunited with her beloved husband John Gear 1985, her dear son Rick Gear (Susan) 2000 and beautiful daughter Kelly Gear 2002. Grace leaves behind her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jim Stilin and her adored Grandchildren Kellan, Luke (Steph), Lara and Anna Stilin, David (Lauren), Jonathan (Vicky) and Daniel (Leslie)Gear. Proud Great Gramma of Rocco and Emmy Stilin, who will miss their Gramma Grace and little Cole Gear who will learn about her through stories and photos. Grace was blessed with countless wonderful friends over the years in the many places she lived. George C. Kipphut was one of those people who became a special, later in life companion. She always spoke about her friends with admiration and fondness. She had a special place in her heart for her nieces and her God Daughter. Grace was a smart and determined woman who loved life and lived it fully. Guided every day by her strong faith she was able to overcome much and has earned the respect of all who knew and loved her. She was little but she was mighty. Support, care, and compassion came when Grace needed it from Dr. Lorraine Sharp, her friends at the Lions Place, Red Cross Home Care, VON Adult Day Program, Sault Area Hospital, and the F.J. Davey Home. For this we are truly grateful. A private family service will be held out of respect for the serious danger Covid-19 poses. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sault Area Hospital Foundation, F.J. Davey Home or ARCH. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758).
