Gemma will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gemma was a beautiful and kind soul with a deep faith. Her greatest gift in life was that of being a mother and grandmother, family meant the world to her. She loved nothing more than gathering together and making sure everyone was well fed. Gemma retired from the General Hospital after 15 years in housekeeping. She enjoyed spending time in her gardens and loved flowers. Her generous heart and bright smile will be cherished and dearly missed by all who knew her.
Due to the current pandemic regulations a private family funeral will be held. Details for a Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date, once it is safe to gather.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or the Ontario Finnish Rest Home Association would be greatly appreciated by the family. Special thank you to the staff at the Vandaele Nursing Home and the Ontario Finnish Resthome for the care and compassion shown to Gemma and our family.
