Obituary of Richard Lee Speers
Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness; the family of Rick Speers announces his sudden and untimely passing. Surrounded by his loved ones, Ricky left this world on April 11, 2021. Beloved son of Donna Rossi (late Michael Rossi). Father to Halie (John Wesley) and Vann Makinson, and Trinity, whom he all deeply loved. Brother of Mathew Rossi (Stephanie) and the late Ralph Rossi. Special cousin of Natasha Cole (Stu). There is some solace in knowing that Ricky will be meeting up with his grandparents, Ann and Garnet Speers, who loved him so very much and will be greeting him with open arms. He will be reunited with his father, Mike, and his brother Ralph. They can draw together again and be at peace.
Ricky was a quiet, soft-spoken guy who loved to love. He wore his heart on his sleeve and let you know how he felt about you. He had a deep faith and believed in God. He was handsome and strong, from a very young age. In his teen years, he excelled in athletics, possessing natural skill and ability. Some of these traits, he passed down to his beautiful children. Ricky loved to weight train and some of his happiest times were spent at the gym lifting weights. When he was able to, he took his fitness seriously and reached a high level of fitness through intense training. He loved to look good and dress well.
Ricky is now at peace. From his passing, there are lessons. Love without judgement, help with compassion, and our struggles do not define us. Do not blame or shame those who are lost & cannot find their way back. In the end, Ricky was able to give the greatest gift of all, and that was the gift of life. He was an organ donor, and we know that this would have made him proud. Due to Covid restrictions, a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Soup Kitchen would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you to the nurses in ICU, Trillium Life Network, EMS, & SSMFS for their compassionate care as well as the City Police. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
Rest easy, Rick. We love you.
