Obituary of Saveria Adamo

Please share a memory of Saveria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother at the FJ Davey Home on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the age of 92. Saveria, surrounded by her children, went peacefully into the welcoming arms of Jesus. Devoted and loving wife of the late Antonio for 59 years. Adored and cherished mother of Maria, Frank (Sandi) and Rose Toppan (Steve). Proud grandmother of her four grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart – Amanda Pozzebon Burke (Allan), David Pozzebon (Nikki), David Toppan (Alysha) and Dalton Toppan (Brianna). Great grandmother of Elijah, Ezra and Everett Burke. Born in Passamorone, Calabria, Italy. Daughter of the late Francesca and late Ferrante Coccimiglio. Daughter-in-law of the late Maria and late Francesco Adamo. Beloved sister of the late Angela Iacucci (late Emilio), the late Maria Florio (late Carmine), Emilia Salomone (Tony), and Lucia Guzzo (late Fortunato). Beloved sister-in-law of the late Nella Marino (late Sebastiano), late Adele Adamo, late Gina Lanzo (Peppe) all from Italy. She is the cherished sister-in-law of Rita Colosimo (Rosario), Emma Spinelli (Gianni) and Michele Adamo (Tina) all from Woodbridge, Ontario. Loving and caring aunt of many nieces and nephews whom she truly loved so dearly. Saveria was the sweetest person with a heart of gold. She never forgot her heritage and she took pride in the fresh produce from their garden. She cooked countless, delicious Italian meals. She welcomed everyone to eat at her table and would not take no for an answer. She loved making her grandchildren’s favourite fried potatoes among many other requests. She was the best baker as everything was made with love. Saveria was selfless and absolutely loved to cater to others. She always had a loving smile for everyone. Her smile was beautiful and infectious. Oh! how we will miss that smile. She is truly the best person we know – sweet, kind, humble and loving. Due to Covid restrictions a private family service will be held officiated by Father Trevor Scarfone. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the FJ Davey Home Foundation or St. Gregory’s Church would be appreciated. A special thank you to Angela and Tony Iuliano. She loved you both as though you were her own children. Thank you to the many doctors she’s had over the years. A very special thank you to the wonderful team at the F. J. Davey Home. We especially want to thank the amazing Nurses and PSW’s in Cedar Grove Two. We would love to mention individual names but there are so many of you. Your kindness to our mother kept her thriving these past few years. Our over-worked PSW angels would sing to her and even cut her Covid-hair - always taking great care of our beautiful Mom. She loved each of you and your kindness did not go unnoticed. You are truly angels. It gives us comfort to know that Daddy is waiting to dance with his “hunny.” We love you Mommy.
