Obituary of Jessie Doiron
Please share a memory of Jessie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, April 23, 2021. Loving wife of the late Paul. Thoughtful and supportive mother of Paula Hooper (Tom) and Nancy Wissell (Wayne). Fun loving grandmother of Meagan Anning, Lindsay Spina (Sonny) and Alicia Anning. Stephanie Pick (John) and Jamie Hooper were also welcomed into her family circle. She adored her great grandchildren Gabriel Paul Anning and Ella Robinson. She was the heart of our family and loved all of us unconditionally.
Mom was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario and spoke often of the loving home provided by her parents Robert and Elizabeth Dunsmore. She is predeceased by a much older brother Jim Innes. Her sisters have been her lifelong best friends; Elizabeth Owen (late Bob), Roberta Miller (late George), and the late Nancy Durocher (Dennis). Her sister-in-law Theresa Daigle (Fern) and brother-in-law Maurice Doiron (Colombe) along with many nieces and nephews will remember her with great affection. Mom shared a special bond with her niece Tracy Cooke (Fred). Her partners in crime and longtime friends Cathy Kiely and Maggie Konkin are a treasure trove of stories about their escapades with mom and she appreciated regular calls from her bingo buddy Frances Messore.
Jessie enjoyed a long career with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario. Way back, she won her case and became the first woman in the area to secure a full-time position. Upon retirement, she and Paul enjoyed their winter home in Northport, Florida, entertaining new friends, and family members who came to visit.
In accordance with mom’s wishes, no service is planned, and cremation has taken place. Donations in her memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Golden Rescue Ontario. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
