Obituary of Maria Vernile (Vernelli)

Peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Monday, May 3, 2021; Maria Vernile at the age of 91 years. Loving wife of the late Tommaso. Beloved father of Emilio (Emilia), Carlo (Monique), Mario (Alba), Gina Maione (Angelo), John (Tina), Tom (Pam), Victor (Karen) and Rosa Medaglia (Sam). Cherished Nonna of 19 and Bis Nonna of four. Daughter of the late Rose and the late Antonio Ficociello. Dear sister of Pasquale Ficociello (Angelica), Assunta Degliagli (late Carmine) of Italy, Carmina Ficociello (late Carmine) and Frank Ficociello (Emilia). Daughter-in-law of the late Virgilia and the late Emilio Vernile. Sister-in-law of the late Carmina Teoli (late Giovanni), late Margarita Stabile (late Carlo), late Christina Teoli (late Guido), late Antonietta Stabile (late Nino) and the late Orlando Vernile (late Bettina) all of Italy. Special aunt of many nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Conway officiating. The service will stream live through the Northwood Funeral Home Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/northwoodfuneralhome/. Simply be on Northwood Funeral Homes Facebook home page at 1:00 p.m. and the video will appear when the service begins. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie would be greatly appreciated by the family.
