Obituary of Lorraine Knudson
Lorraine Knudson, 69, of Blind River, unexpectedly passed away May 8, 2021, with her family by her side.
She was born to the late Margaret and Fern Desbiens, Jan. 26, 1952, in Sudbury, Ontario. Lorraine attended Blind River District Highschool. She went on to complete her diploma in business administration and most enjoyed her time working as an emergency medical dispatcher for the Ministry of Health. Some of Lorraine’s favorite things to do were curling, sailing, fishing, and gourmet cooking.
Lorraine was married to Ken Knudson in 1971. She is survived by her loving husband, daughters, Jennifer Knudson and Lindsay Guptill (Byron) and grand daughter Maisy. She was a dear sister to Elizabeth Paul (Murray), Louise Desbiens (Ray), Sylvia Nowe (Everette), Anita Demers (Pete), Diane Savage, Fern Jr. Desbiens (Lucy), Richard Desbiens and pre-deceased by Pierre Desbiens. In addition, Lorraine leaves behind many members of the Knudson-Prowse family who were especially important to her.
Lorraine spent her much of her life travelling and living abroad at her husband’s side. She was a loving, devoted, compassionate, and strong woman who had many dear friends she met throughout her life. Lorraine will be missed for her inviting smile, sympathetic ear and loving hug. Lorraine had a strong faith and love for the Lord. She enjoyed the time she spent with her church family.
A memorial service will be held at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Blind River at a later date, when travel restrictions have been lifted. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
