Obituary of Carmine Chiarello
It is with great sadness but also with a celebration of a life well lived, that the family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, nonno and great nonno at home on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the age of 88, surrounded by the love and light of his children and family.
He is now reunited with the love of his life, Egilda Chiarello, his beloved son Raffaele Chiarello, his cherished granddaughter Sarah M. Grand, his cherished grandson Cory Jacob (CJ) Chiarello and much loved brothers Anselmo Chiarello of Sault Ste. Marie and Egidio Chiarello (late Francine) of Belgium.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are his devoted and loving children Carmela Grand (Larry), and Cory Chiarello (Lita), as well as his beloved grandchildren Rachel McEwen (Quintin), Kassandra Chiarello (Evan), Carmine Chiarello Jr and his precious great grandson Cohen McEwen. Carmine will be fondly remembered by Cathy Chiarello (Daniel Entwistl), Toni Chiarello and Maria Chiarello (late Anselmo).
Carmine was born in Aiello, Calabro, Italy, and is the son of the late Raffaele Chiarello and Carmela Greco. Cherished brother of Teresa Chiarello (late Geniale) of Sault Ste Marie and Angelo Chiarello (Sarah Recht) of Germany. Much loved son-in-law of the late Carmine Bruni and the late Rosina Posteraro. Brother-in-law of the late Rafelina Greco (late Giuseppe), of USA, late Giovanni Bruni (Angelina), Pasquale Bruni (Rosetta), late Giuseppe Bruni (Lina), Armando Bruni (Terry), Franco Bruni (Teresa), all of Montreal and Mario Bruni (Rosetta) and late Marietta Borrelli (late Mario) of Italy.
He will be missed by his many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, especially cousins Lina and Bruno Guidoccio of Sault Ste. Marie and niece Francesca Posteraro of Montreal.
Carmine loved and treasured his family above all. Together with his late wife Egilda they raised their three young children and built a home and a future in Sault Ste. Marie after immigrating from Germany in 1970. He had a passion and a gift for gardening and the family ate organic vegetables well before it became the in thing to do. He was a loving husband, great father and devoted nonno. He was the epitome of strength, courage, loyalty, friendship and tradition.
His love will never leave us, we will carry him in our hearts for the rest of our days and be grateful for the memories he left us. He will surround us like the arms of an angel.
A heartfelt thank you to his amazing health care team for their compassion and care including Dr. P. Maione, Dr. D. Bignell, Dr. S. Spadafora, Dr. A. Aziz, Dr. K. Hopper, Dr. S. Buehner and Dr. H. O’Brien for gently and peacefully guiding our father through his transition into his next journey.
