Obituary of Kathy Bourgeois
We are heartsick to share the loss of an amazing woman, Kathy Bourgeois, who passed away suddenly at the age of 62.
Best friend dedicated and loving mother to Kyle Foster. Companion of Randy Sanderson, special friend of his daughter Shelbi and adoptive grandmother of Brianna and Hunter. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Eileen Bourgeois. Cherished sister of the late Louise Sanford, Phil (Theresa), late Mike (Jeni), Jeanette Clarida (Bruce), Rozanne Hayward (Rick), Tim (Teresa), Mariette Bell (Greg), Rob (Linda) and Carole Bourgeois (Leigh). Beloved auntie to many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are all so devastated, especially her son Kyle. He was the very center of Kathy’s life and she loved him to the depths of her soul. She so appreciated sharing wonderful meals he had prepared for her. Kathy was so very proud of Kyle’s skill and dedication to his work.
Kathy was a strong, compassionate, independent person. She was so beautiful inside and out with her striking blue eyes, amazing smile and loving generous heart. Kathy loved the simple things in life; sharing time with family and friends; animals; enjoying the outdoors; quiet moments reading on her back deck; creative projects in the home she loved and cake making extraordinaire. Kathy’s selfless, loving spirit was so evident in the wonderful care she provided throughout her mother’s final years.
Kathy shared a very special bond with her many siblings and was an integral part of her brothers’ and sisters’ lives. She was not only a sister but also their friend, always lovingly by their side sharing both good and difficult times.
Some of Kathy’s happiest moments were those shared with children. She cheerfully joined in with them at every opportunity even participating in costume ‘dress-up’ at family events.
Kathy had many good times camping, fishing and just spending time with her companion Randy, his daughter Shelbi (Jordan) and her children. Kathy so loved Brianna and Hunter who she considered her special grandchildren.
She will also be sadly missed by her ‘No Frills’ work Family, where she worked 30 years, especially Kim Coccimiglio who was her devoted friend and support.
A private Family gathering has been held as per Kathy’s wishes. Arrangements by Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
Kathy’s sudden unexpected passing has reminded us all of how precious and fleeting life can be. We can all honour her legacy by living every moment of our lives to the fullest in love.
So long dear Kathy.
