Obituary of Patrick Heeran

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Padraig “Pat” at ARCH with his family by his side. Reunited with his beloved wife Janice. Stepfather to Russell McCauley, the late Kevin McCauley, Ted McCauley, Chris McCauley and Jenna Peach. Dear brother of the late Tom Heeran (late Deanna), and Marian Sweeney (late Brian) of Ireland. Cherished uncle of Sean Heeran (Annie), Brendan Heeran and Gary Heeran (Mary) and their families, and Vincent (Nonie) of Australia, Noel (Brenda) of Ireland, Brendan (Marie) of Ireland, Annie (Joe) of the USA, Dermot of Ireland, and their families. Predeceased by his parents Thomas Sr. and Annie of Leitrim, Ireland.

Padraig was born and raised in Gorvagh County, Leitrim, Ireland. In 1966 he came to Canada where he settled with his brother Tom and family.

For 25 years he worked various positions for the City of Sault Ste. Marie, his favourite being the position at Pointe Des Chene Park where he spent 10 years.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Father Alex Saurianthadathil officiating. For those wishing to attend the service, please call the funeral home during office hours by 1:00 p.m. on Thursday to reserve your seat. Masks and social distancing are mandatory, and the use of sanitizer is appreciated.  Memorial donations to ARCH would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank everyone at Great Northern Retirement Home for always making it feel like home to Pat.
