Obituary of Ben Pascuzzi

On Thursday, August 19, 2021, our city lost an incredible man. After a courageous battle, fought like a warrior, with his head held high and that “Ben humour” that we all know and love, Ben passed away peacefully at Sault Area Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. Best friend and loving husband of Joanne. Devoted father of Vanessa and Matteo. Predeceased by his parents Mary ‘Molly’ and Beniamino Sr. Pascuzzi. Son-in-law of the late Douglas and late Anne Gaetz. Brother-in-law of Michael Gaetz. Nephew of Amedeo (Late Peggy). Special uncle to Madeline, Amelia, Sabastian, and Zachary. Ben will be fondly remembered by his many cousins, friends and colleagues.

Ben enjoyed all that life had to offer. He was passionate about building relationships with clients over the past twenty years at his practice which he led with integrity and dedication. Music fed Ben’s soul as he loved rocking with his band RPM at local bars and events. When he wasn't entertaining, he enjoyed riding on his motorcycle, and spending time with his martial arts family at Ho Shin Sool. Ben loved his community and was committed to volunteering and serving many local organizations such as; Sault College, Board of Governors, Rotary and Chamber of Commerce to name a few. Despite Ben’s dedication to his community, nothing was more important to him than spending time with his family. Relaxing at the cottage, watching sports with his son, and travelling are all treasured memories he shared with his family.

A special thank you to his Bayshore nurses, Cindy and Leah, for the outstanding care they have given him in the past year. Thank you to Doctor Razak at Mount Sinai Hospital, Doctors Spadafora and Culina, as well as the Emergency and ICU team at Sault Area Hospital. Another huge thank you to Louise and the entire team at the Cancer Clinic. Our family is overwhelmed by the love and generosity that has been provided to us from the community, colleagues, and friends, especially Betty Germanili and Luisa Martone.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required. The use of hand sanitizer is appreciated. In lieu of donations of flowers and food Ben would want us to raise a glass, have a laugh, and be with the ones we love.
