It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of a selfless, devoted and hardworking husband, father, nonno and friend on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 76. We are comforted knowing he is now reunited with his loving and caring wife, Ida. Beloved father and friend of Margaret (Ted), Rosario (Wendy), Silvana Crispo (John), Dina and Joe. Cherished Nonno of Anthony, Mikaela, Wesley, John, Joey and Mathieu. Son of the late Rosario Coccimiglio and Margherita Bruni. Brother of Francesca (Pasquala), Geniale, Fortunato, Santo (Lina), late Alfredo (Lina), Nella (Giuseppe), Maurino (Maria) and Pina (Franko). Son-in-law of the late Peppino Bennardo and Rosaria Zagordo. Brother-in-law of Rosa Zagordo (Lino) and Anna Coccimiglio (Paolino). Antonio will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Antonio came to Canada from Italy in 1970 in a hope of a better future for his family. Our dads love and devotion was his family. His gardens were his passion and pride along with his traditional homemade salami and tomato sauce. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required. The use of hand sanitizer is appreciated. A private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Veronica’s Church with Father Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to SAH Cancer Care Fund would be greatly appreciated. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Baath and Dr. Gu for their care and compassion.
Dad, we are forever grateful for your hard work, sacrifices, selflessness and unconditional love, to make a better life for your family.
