Obituary of Leo Patrick Mahon

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the age of 90. Cherished husband of Barbara for 68 years. Devoted father of Danny (Lucie), Debbie (Grant), and the late Carol. Loving grandpa of Brandon, Kristin, Samantha and Sydney. A special papa to his great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Ann Mahon and siblings, Marie (Roy), Evelyn (Ernie), Cathy (Eddie), John (Claire) and Frank (Betty). Loved brother of Wanda (Jim), Dr. King Mahon (Madeline). Pat will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and long-time friends both here and afar.

He was a successful businessman and gave much back to his community through his involvement in many local charities and his long standing membership with the Downtown Kiwanis Club. Pat was an avid curler, golfer, boater, and tennis player. He had a great run.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required. The use of hand sanitizer is appreciated. Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. We wish to thank Dr. Fera for his years of care, the SAH staff and our local Alzheimer Society for their support. A very special thank you to the staff of Twin Lakes at Maple View. We will forever be grateful for their devoted care and respect of Pat in his short time there. Thank you too all.
