It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Lucia at the F. J. Davey Home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the age of 93.

 

Beloved wife of the late Giuseppe. Truly devoted and loving mother to the late Teresa Fabbricino (late Marco), Frank (Marg), Victoria Whalen (Greg), and Sal (Diane). Dear Nana to Sue MacDonald (Michael), Christina Healy (Leo), Sara Brunetti (Steve Dominey), Katherine Foglia (John), Greg Whalen (Michael Leclair), Jessica Whalen (Sheena Massiah), Joel Brunetti (Emily), Matthew Brunetti and Danielle Rodrigues- Brunetti (Matheus). Loving great nana to Nick and Matt MacDonald, Madelyn and Nathan Healy, Nora Dominey, Claire and Adam Foglia, and Nico Brunetti.

 

Predeceased by her parents Vittoria and Salvatore Spadafora. Dear sister of Caterina DeSimone (late Giovanni), late Rosina Marra (Antonio), Domenico Spadafora (Ida), Francesca Spadafora (late Mario), Francesco Saverio Spadafora and Giovanni Spadafora (Maria). Daughter-in-law of the late Teresa and Francesco Brunetti. Dear sister-in-law to the late Lucrezia Brunetti and late Barbara Bitonti (late Pasquale). Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

 

Lucia had a heart of gold. She loved her family and friends and always said “La porta é sempre aperta” (the door is always open). She loved to cook and serve her delicious Italian meals. Lucia was always ready to lend a helping hand.

 

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Friday, December 31, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A funeral mass will follow at St. Gregory’s Church at 1:00 p.m., capacity is limited due to pandemic regulations. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.

 

Memorial donations to the F.J. Davey Home or ARCH would be appreciated by the family. Special thank you to the staff on Apple 3 & Cedar 2 at the F.J. Davey Home. You treated mom with love and respect. Thank you to Dr. Ianni, Dr. Jarrett and Dr. Chung for taking care of mom over the years.

 

Mom, we love you, and you will always be with us in memory and spirit.
