It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden yet peaceful passing of our beloved wife and mother, at home on Saturday, January 8, 2021 at the age of 80. Much-loved wife of William Thibault for over 62 years. Devoted mother of Sharon King (Robert), Gene Thibault (Kim), Kevin Thibault (Gladys). Cherished grandmother of Valerie Kates (Mark), Renee Cowan (Brian), Michael Cote (Diana), Liam, Sophie and Chloe Thibault, Isiah Holmberg, Sayde Boissoneau, Evette and Simon Thibault.  Great grandmother of Trenton and Delany Cowan, Wes Kates, Emerson and Ellwood Boissoneau.

Predeceased by her parents Percy and Nora Ramsay (nee Chestle). Noreen will be dearly missed by her siblings John Ramsay (late Mary Jane), Sylvia Houle (Rolly) and the late George Ramsay (Pat). Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Daughter-in-law of the late Delena and late Frank Thibault. Sister-in-law of Jim Thibault (Sheila), Shelley Thibault (Jeananne), Leila Thibault, Madeline MacDonald (late Al), Sally Brammer (Ray) and Marjorie Thibault.  Predeceased by brothers and sister-in-law Blake, Ken, Cam, Randy (Katharine).

Noreen volunteered for over 30 years at the Sault Area Hospital as a way finder and receptionist.  She enjoyed watching hockey and baseball cheering for her favourite teams the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays.  She attended church at both Holy Trinity and St. Luke’s Cathedral.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, January 12, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon. Due to the current pandemic, line ups are not permitted. If you wish to attend the visitation, please call 705-945-7758 during the office hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. to reserve a time slot. Reservations will be taken until the end of day Tuesday. Masks and social distancing are mandatory, the use of sanitizer is appreciated.  A private family service will be held.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to VON Algoma, NE LHIN and Alzheimer’s for the wonderful support and care given to mom during these difficult years.  Thanks to the Paramedics, Sault Ste. Marie Police Officers, Dr. Gallanis and Northwood Funeral Home for their care and compassion. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
