Peggy LaBerge

Obituary of Peggy Lynne LaBerge

Please share a memory of Peggy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With the abundant generosity and selfless love of an angel, Peggy Lynne LaBerge was welcomed home at the gates of heaven on January 24, 2022. In true "Peggy-style", she fought a valiant fight to see every loving family member who traveled to be by her bedside before making her peaceful departure.

Devoted mother and best friend to Jody Catherine Bucher (Levar) and Tracy Lynne Figueira (Levar). Doting grandmother "Nanny Peggles" to Morgan, Ryker, and Boden Wetherill, Gabriel and Grace Figueira, Addison Russell and Farrah Forbes. Loving mother-in-law to Nick Figueira and Albert Bucher. Lifelong friend to cousin Sandy Antonello (Masters), Jane Shunock (Hedland), Pat Hawdon and the late Ronna Rae Dawson (McDonald). Loving partner to Allan Russell and Allan's daughters, Jennifer and Lindsay Russell whose special friendship brought her much joy in her later years.

Preceded in death by her loving parents Eleanor (Lynne) and Edmund (Ted) LaBerge. Peggy's heart overflowed with pride for her younger brother Greggory Stuart LaBerge (affectionately known as UG) and his loving wife Jennifer Lynn LaBerge (AJ). The special bond and infinite love for each other will carry on through them.

Peggy will forever be remembered as a gracious hostess and amazing chef who loved to entertain, tender of beautiful gardens, master seamstress and fixer (collector) of all things, passionate romantic, fearless defender, and selfless mother and devoted friend who loved unconditionally and with all of her heart. She would drop everything to be there for her "girls" or anyone without a second thought.

A special thank you to Dr. Jarrett, Dr. Gravelle and Kent Mousseau as well as the nursing and care teams on 3B and 3C at the Sault Area Hospital. We will be forever grateful for your compassionate support and kindness when it mattered the most. Donation can be made through Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) or online at www.northwoodfuneral.com.

Loved by so many, Peggy was a fierce supporter to all in need. Whether they needed a warm meal, a late night phone call or some no fuss advice. In honor of this and Peggy's passion for their work, the family requests that donations be made to the Women in Crisis (Algoma).
