Obituary of Gertrude Mossa
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Gertrude on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the age of 100. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Peter and son John. Loving mother of Debbie (Ed Hudson) and Michael (Brenda). Proud gramma of Adam, Julie (Joel), Scott (Karen) and Andrea (Mark). Great gramma of eight.
Gertrude was born in Germany, worked as a nurse in WW2, immigrated to Canada, worked in the Kenora hospital, eventually meeting Peter and settling in Sault Ste. Marie. She loved walking, family card games, puzzles, berry picking, fishing with Ethel and Joe, knitting, sewing and making amazing quilts. But most of all, she loved her gardens. Flowers, especially daisies, were always in bloom around the house and camp, and her vegetable gardens were the envy of many.
We would like to extend special thanks to the truly incredible family at Extendicare Van Daele for the kind, compassionate, and loving care that our mother received over the years.
