Obituary of John Anthony Pettalia

At the Sault Area Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Predeceased by his parents, Sosto and Marie Pettalia and his mother, Theresa Hordeychuk, as well as numerous aunts and uncles. Dearly loved brother of the late Anthony Pettalia (Margaret Ann), Robert Hordeychuk (Micky) and Bertha Hordeychuk. John will be missed by his many surviving relatives in the Fera and Pettalia families as well as the many friends he made along the way.
 

Family and friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
 

The family would like to thank the nurses in Palliative Care (3B) and Dr. Mary Wilson for their kindness and care during John’s stay. Very special thanks to Sam Desumma, who was not only a good landlord for many years, but a genuine and caring friend to John right up to the time of his passing.
