Obituary of Maija Liisa Nenonen
Our hearts are shattered as we announce the unexpected passing of our radiant, ray of light, Maija, on Monday, April 11, 2022, at the tender age of 21. We know that heaven has gained the most beautiful angel, who will continue to love and guide us all from above.
Cherished daughter of Pina and Michael Nenonen. Proud little sister of Mika. Maija will be lovingly remembered by Nonno Vincenzo and Nonna Ilda Spadafora and is predeceased by her Ukki Leo and Mummo Alice Nenonen. Loved niece of Lisa Figures (late Mike), Lori Maunu (late Richard), and Carlo Spadafora (late Erica)(Andrea). Special cousin of Matthew (Meagan) and their daughters Leighton (Maija’s adored Goddaughter) and Lilah, Christopher (Sarah) and his daughter Macy, Ryan (Lianna) and their son Leo, Bianca, Olivia, Tiffanie and Michael. Maija will be dearly missed by her many friends in Sault Ste. Marie and in London at Western University.
It is hard to put into words just how special Maija truly is. Her larger-than-life personality brought others together and that warm smile pulled you in. Although she has been taken from us far too soon, we know that her 21 years with us have been full of love, laughter, and a lifetime full of memories that we will continue to cherish and share.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will follow on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory’s Church with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Gregory’s Church or Zion Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
“Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end,
they simply mean I’ll miss you until we meet again.”
