Served the Hearst Board of Education for 17 years as an Attendance Counsellor while maintaining industrial upholstery as a side line. Resigned from the Hearst Board of Education in September 1987. Moved to St. Catherine ON to join his Brother Rene as a General Insurance Broker. In 1988, he applied for an Attendance Counsellor’s position that was advertised by the Sault-Ste-Marie Board of Education, got hired and worked for the Board until retirement in July of 2000.
