Obituary of Angela Martella

With broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Angela at Extendicare Van Daele on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the age of 93. We take great comfort knowing she is now reunited with her beloved husband and best friend, Giuseppe. Cherished mother of Maria Perra (Sandro) and the late Cosmo Martella.  Cherished Nonna of Luigi Perra, Roberto Perra (Carrie) and Giancarlo Perra (Jasmine), Zoe and Aiden Martella.  Bisnonna of Thomas, Anthony and Matteo. Predeceased by her parents Antonio and Lucia Midea. Sister of the late Maria Colossa (late Carmine), late Rocco Midea (late Maria), late Michelina Fargiorgio (Giuseppe) and Filice Midea (late Luisa). Sister-in-law of late Gennaro (Martha), Giovanna DeCesare (late Angelo), late Christina Carlascio (late Felix), late Pasquale (Rose) of Australia, Nicola (Nicolina) of Cleveland and the late Domenico (late Maria).  She will be missed by her many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Friends and family are invited to visit Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel at 12:00 noon with Father Paul Conway officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.  Memorial donations to the Van Daele Residents Council (payable by cheque only) or the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie would be appreciated by the family.  A heartfelt thank you does not seem enough for the devoted staff at Extendicare Van Daele. From the nursing staff, RPNs, PSWs, housekeeping, dietary, activity – they all went above and beyond to make Mom’s environment comfortable. A special thank you to Marcie, Brandy, Pam, Nancy, Andria, Dorothy, Lovepreet and many more. Thank you to Dr. Rose-Marie Gieni and Chantal for taking good care of Mom, as she was a big challenge at times.
