Obituary of Antonio Oliviero
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Antonio after a long and valiant battle with cancer, at home, surrounded by the love of his family on Friday June 24th, 2022, at the age of 75.
Beloved husband and best friend of Annunziata (nee Parisi) for 55 years. Cherished father of Cathy (Joe), Nanci (Eliza), Josie Jennings (Dion). Very special Gramps to Nick Oliviero (Stephanie), Matthew Oliviero, and Olivia Jennings. Proud great grandfather to Anthony Oliviero. Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Rosa. Cherished brother to four sisters, one brother all of Ercolano, Naples, Italy. Son-in-law of the late Luigi and late Caterina Parisi. Brother-in-law to two sisters and one late brother. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews and special friends.
Antonio worked for 37 years at Algoma Steel #2 BOSP before retiring to fully enjoy all the things he loved most in life. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, making everyone laugh. He enjoyed his wife’s cooking – chef Antonio, cruising the flyers to find all the best specials, fishing, taking walks and enjoying his wine. Although nothing brought him joy quite like spending time with his great grandson Anthony.
A private family funeral was held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758). In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to The War Amps, Diabetes Association, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
