Obituary of Frank Colombi

Peacefully at Extendicare Maple View, after a short and aggressive battle with cancer, on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the age of 82, Frank said his final goodbye surrounded by those that loved him very much. We take great comfort knowing he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Teresa. Loving father of Lorena, Johnny (Lore), Marco (Lucero), and Carla (Justin).  Friend of Rosa Cesinaro. Adored Nonno of Jonathan, Tyler, Joanna, Jacob, Aiden, Jeremy, and Juliana. Predeceased by his parents Giovanni-Pasquale Colombi and Carolina Colombi (Bosio). Dear brother of Guiseppina (Rudolfo), Angelina Baldini (late Pietro), Ines Baldini (late Andrea), Teresa Patelli (late Vincenso), the late Francesa Guizzetti (Francesco), the late Caterina Guizzetti (Augustino) and others. Uncle and Great-uncle to many nieces and nephews in various parts of the country. 

Affectionately known as “Cranky Frankie”, he was happiest when he was in his garden, tending to “Frankie’s tomatoes” and his many varieties of flowers.  He could always be found tinkering with something, always keeping himself busy. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Father Paul Conway officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Reception to follow at Northwood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A heartfelt thank you to those at the Sault Area Hospital, Extendicare Maple View and to his Personal Support Workers. Through this difficult time, you were very patient with him, provided compassion while you helped care for Frank in his last days.
