Obituary of Helen Dorvault
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. After a brief illness and a short stay in hospice she peacefully passed on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She was born in Steinbach, Manitoba on August 13, 1963, the 9th out of 11 children, to parents Albert and Helen (Mezzo) Dorvault.
She is predeceased by her parents Albert and Helen and her siblings Al and Susan. She will be missed by her children Becky and Sandra Gigolyk (Jason Grabowski) and her grandchildren Julia and Jasmine (Grabowski), her siblings and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Living most of her life in Manitoba on the family farm she got married at a young age and had her daughters in 1987 and 1989. Working hard at numerous jobs to support herself she lived in Winnipeg for the majority of her adult life. She was a strong and determined woman, fighting her entire life for what she had. No matter how bad things may have been she never lost her kindness and ability to see the beauty in things. One of her biggest joys in life was music and was often found dancing around the house. An avid animal lover she liked being around the farm animals and later in life was never without a cat to keep her company. In her later years she moved to Moncton, New Brunswick and then Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario with her second husband Mark Ingalls where she remained for the rest of her life.
The family would like to thank the staff at ARCH in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario for the care and compassion shown to Helen during her remaining days.
Family and friends are invited to attend an interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Woodridge, Manitoba on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at 12 noon at the hall in Woodridge.
Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, P6B 0B6 705-945-7758).
