Obituary of Shauneen Perdomo
Family and friends and many of her former students and fellow teachers will be saddened to hear of the passing of Shauneen on Thursday, July 21, 2022. She passed unexpectedly but peacefully at her home in Sault Ste. Marie at the age of 62.
She is missed by her loving companion and friend of many years, Ed Butler, and by her family, including mother, Lynn, in Sudbury, as well as brothers, Brendan and Kirby, in Sudbury, and sisters Sabrina in Abbottsford, BC, and Jarron in Toronto, along with their families.
A high school teacher for 30 years, Shauneen was part of the lives of thousands of students and teachers during her many years at Korah Collegiate. A graduate of McMaster University, with a degree in languages, she spoke English, French, Italian and Spanish, played guitar and piano, and vanquished many an opponent in trivia, where she was hard to beat!
She will always be remembered by her generous and compassionate nature, her quick laugh and her great smile.
A celebration of Shauneen’s life will be held at a later date, when her colleagues and friends can attend and share their fond memories. Thanks to Terra at Northwoods and Jeff at Lougheeds for their guidance.
Memorial donations to the UNHCR fund for refugees (https://give.unhcr.ca/) or to St. Vincent Place Soup Kitchen in Sault Ste. Marie (www.vincentplacessm.ca) would be appreciated.
